Fall has finally arrived here in Maryland, and it did not disappoint! The temperature has cooled down considerably, and the leaves have started to turn vibrant colors. It’s time for layering up sweaters, jeans, coats, and boots!

My first Fall lookbook for 2018 was taken during my recent trip to Charlotte, NC. It wasn’t even close to sweater weather that day (in fact, it was in the balmy 80s when we took these photos!). I started my day with a fabulous makeup artist – Thee of PMC Artistry (@pmcartistry on Instagram). Thee is just amazing: she listened to my request, has an excellent eye for color, and was so pleasant to work with – even at 7 a.m.! I usually do my makeup, but I must admit, it was certainly nice to be pampered! She’s a very talented artist, so if you’re looking for a professional makeup artist for that next event, I highly recommend her (for a closer look at what she did for my shoot, visit her IG page)!
Deena Beckley (@dkourtneyphoto on Instagram) captured all the pictures. She is a full-time photographer and works with just about all the fashion bloggers in the area (she also takes photos of babies, brides, and couples)! You’ll appreciate her artistry in incorporating natural lighting into her work. She works quickly but efficiently. She is definitely passionate about photography, and it shows in her photos.
So, let’s talk Fall fashion! I’ve put together a few popular trends into the mix, and I’m excited to share some of my favorite finds for the season.
Animal print
Let the fashion world hear you roar as you wear your favorite animal print this Fall! I see a lot of different animal prints (mostly snake and leopard), and they are on jackets, leggings, jumpsuits, dresses – you name it! Get in touch with your wild side by mixing prints like wearing a zebra top with tiger midi skirt or keeping it all neutral in a leopard wrap dress with black booties! Be out there, go for the stripes, and be spotted!

Plaids
Plaid is back! I’m sure you’ve seen this trend all over Instagram. This eye-catching pattern comes in a variety of iterations – tartan, checkered, houndstooth, madras, etc. Ring in the season by wearing this wide-leg plaid trousers combined with a bright yellow turtleneck and black booties. Pair it with a gorgeous red purse for the “pop” factor (currently out of stock but have linked something similar)!

Suede leggings
These must-have leggings are comfortable while being fashionable and chic! Wear it for the weekend with an oversized sweater and platform sneakers or dress it up with a lace button-up top and leopard mules. These are versatile enough to wear with anything and will be a great addition to anyone’s closet!

Velvet
Nothing beats the warmth and softness of velvet! I love the luxurious feel of the dress and the wrap tie hugs the waist and creates a flattering shape. Pair this dress with feather earrings for fun!

Fall colors
As the temperatures drop and the leaves change colors, the rich and warm shades of toasty brown, olive green, burnt oranges, rich burgundy, eggplant purple, and bright yellow become more apparent.
