Here’s a glam makeup tutorial featuring smokey gray eyeshadow and classic red lips – a dazzling look you can rock for any occasion!

We’re going for full glam makeup with smokey eyes and a pop of red on the lips for that sultry look! We’re creating this classic look with affordable products, mainly Covergirl. They were kind enough to send most of these products as part of my collaboration.
This look is perfect for holidays, Valentine’s Day, date night – you name it! I created an IG Reel, which gives you an overview of how I put this look together. The step-by-step directions and products used are also listed below.

Step-by-step directions
Start with Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation (I used Medium/Tan). This foundation has sheer coverage, so it’s perfect for those who want a natural look. If you’re used to wearing a full-coverage foundation, this might come off feeling watered down in comparison. This foundation slightly blurs some imperfections but doesn’t cover up acne or freckles. The coconut milk ingredient allows for a hydrating feeling and gives a soft, dewy finish.
Next, use concealer Medium/Tan (370) for additional coverage and Light/Medium (350) to highlight under my eye, nose bridge, forehead, and mouth. The sheer coverage and dewy finish are similar to the foundation.
Finish with light coverage pressed powder in Medium (160). This powder came with a sponge application, but I used a powder brush. The powder goes on smoothly on the skin and has light coverage.
Let’s work on the fun part: the eyes! Prime the lid with Exhibitionist Lid Pain in Nude Awakening (105).
Take the Trunaked Eyeshadow Quad in Jetsetter and start with the light gray shade. Sweep that on the crease. If you have hooded eyes like me, make sure to apply that above your crease, so it’s visible. The eyeshadow goes on smoothly, is very blendable, and stays on for a while without any creasing. It helps when you add primer to help with the longevity and the color deposit.
Next, take the darker gray, and apply it on the outer part of your eye in a sideways “V” shape (aka outer V). This will help define the area to give it some depth and dimension to the smokey eye. With your finger, pat on the silver metallic color, then apply it to the middle of your lid to give it some “pop.” Finish with the off cream eyeshadow and apply it to the inner lid.
Take a black eyeliner to line the upper waterline and lash line to give the effect of a full lash appearance. I used Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner in Black Onyx (200). Take a smudger brush and smudge the liner to create that smokey eye effect.
Let’s coat those lashes! Prep with the Lash Blast Lash and Brow Serum and let that dry. Apply a few coats of Lash Blast Volume Mascara in Very Black. I’m very particular about mascara, and I tend to use one that volumizes. I thought this mascara was just all right; the wand is a bit big to coat each lash. My favorite of all time is Lancome Hypnose.
Once you’re done, add your favorite false lashes. KISS Wispies are my holy grail, and my current fave is Pampadour. It’s light, and the shape has a nice curl at the very end, giving that cat-eye appearance.
Line and fill in your brows with Benefit Definer Pencil Brow in 4.5 for that full brow look.
Take the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit and contour your face giving the illusion of higher cheekbones, slimmer nose, softer jawline, or smaller forehead. If you’d like to add more warmth to the face, take Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer and add to the same areas of the contour. You don’t have to do both, of course. But feel free to combine to sculpt with the contour palette, then add warmth with the bronzer for the golden glow.
After that, use a highlighter from the contour kit and apply it on the high points of your face: cheekbones, bridge of your nose, brow bone, chin, and cupid’s bow. Add blush to the cheeks. I used Jouer Cosmetics in Darling.
To complete the glam look, use red matte lipstick in Wine O’Clock. It has a lot of pigment, and it lasts for a while. You’ll need to reapply after eating. Good price performer.
