It wouldn’t be Fall if you didn’t have pumpkins everywhere! The taste of the much-coveted pumpkin spice latte that only comes this time of year, the smell of a perfectly baked, mouth-watering, spiced pumpkin bread wafting through the air, and the beautiful sight of pumpkins all around! Going to a pumpkin patch is always a fun activity to enjoy with your family, especially with younger children. There are many kinds of pumpkin patches – some have fun-filled activities like corn mazes, tractor-pulled hay rides, petting zoos, pony rides, face-painting, and a few select ones even have a pumpkin cannon (who wouldn’t have fun launching a pumpkin from a cannon?)! You may also purchase farm-grown produce, flowers, meats, and other delicious sweet treats like kettle corn, pumpkin bread, and apple cider donuts!
However, one of the most enjoyable parts of being at the patch is finding that “perfect” pumpkin! What you do with that pumpkin is all up to you! Get in touch with your inner Martha Stewart and be creative with acrylic paint, decoupage, stick-on gems, or glitter. Grab your pumpkin carving kit to make a spooky glow-in-the-dark cat or your classic toothy jack-o-lantern. Create a cheese dip in a baked pumpkin and enjoy with a delicious glass of wine amongst family or friends. You have to admit – it wouldn’t be Fall without pumpkins!
I visited a local farm here in Maryland – Buppert’s in Marriottsville. It’s a small, family-owned farm by Doran and Helen Buppert and has been in operation since 1951. Here, you’ll find fresh, organic (non-GMO) farm-to-table produce, fruits, and flowers (annuals, perennials, and herbs) throughout the season. They also offer fresh eggs (cage-free and no hormones or antibiotics) and local honey (unprocessed and raw). Buppert’s pride themselves on focusing on natural and sustainable agriculture. If you have a chance to buy organic produce from your local farmer, you won’t regret it as you’re helping to maintain a healthy environment and eco-conscious lifestyle!
What better backdrop to highlight my Fall lookbook than to take pictures at Buppert’s Farm! I contacted Nevena who is a photographer from Marigold Studio (follow her on Instagram @nevenamarigoldphoto). She is a wonderful photographer who makes you feel at ease and is truly passionate about what she does (as you can tell with all the photos shown on this page)! She beautifully captured the essence of Fall – both at the farm and of my outfits.
Hope you enjoy some of my curated looks for the season!
