The 2020 Honda Insight is a hybrid sedan that comes wrapped in a sporty exterior, packed with all the features and comfort you’re looking for in a car, resulting in a clean, safe, connected, and fun experience!
This is a sponsored post with Honda where I received accommodations to test drive the car. I do not earn commission from any affiliate sales. As always, my reviews remain honest, and all opinions are my own.

I had the opportunity to drive the Honda Insight recently when they invited me to the ACL music festival in Austin, Texas, where they sponsored one of the stages. Having not heard of the Insight, I was not sure what to expect.
When I first saw the Insight, I quickly found myself admiring the sweeping character lines, with the low profile front and impressive alloy wheels. Add to that, cool-looking LED headlights and daytime running lights, and you have a sporty looking exterior with a sleek design giving it a great look and feel. Then when I realized this was a hybrid car, I was amazed! A hybrid that has the qualities you want in a higher-end sedan – not something you see too often.
I was not aware that Honda has the most fuel-efficient car fleet vs. the other big automakers and the lowest emissions! Great to hear, especially at a time when climate change is such a concern. The Hybrid Insight gets up to 55 MPG in the city, which is impressive!
It is also very safe with a 5-Star overall vehicle crash score. But the real safety is in the features it has to help prevent you from getting into a car crash. The Honda Insight comes standard with the Honda Sensing®, which is advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies (it’s wonderful they prioritize customer safety as a standard feature). The Insight comes with a multi-view backup camera system (so impressed with how clear and bright the camera is, too). These features will definitely help keep you protected.
The Honda Insight looks nice and has the right safety features, but how is the inside, and how does it drive?
When you get into the Insight, you can feel the difference from other cars. For starters, it is all push button and touch screen enabled. No stick shift or parking brake hardware – just push a button! Push to start, push to release the brake, push to drive, and off you go.
When you touch the screen, you access many connected services. It comes with great connectivity with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features. The Touring models also include the latest iteration of HondaLink, which offers multiple cloud-based services including a 4G Wi-Fi mobile hotspot (data plan required), smartphone-based remote vehicle locking/unlocking, stolen vehicle tracking and more. They pack a lot into this car!
The Honda Insight has excellent acoustics in the car as well. The hands-free phone has excellent clarity when you use it. Easy to hear and understand the other party, and they hardly notice you are in the car talking. It comes with high-quality speakers to enjoy your favorite tunes as you drive around. Whether streaming music, using your playlist, or listening to the radio (does anyone do that anymore?), you get great sound to enhance the driving experience.
The Honda Insight drove very comfortably! It handles well, great for zipping around the city, and using the connectivity to pull up your favorite navigation app made it easy to get around.
It took some getting used to how quiet the car is in battery mode. I kept finding myself looking at the start button to make sure the car was actually on! With no stick shift in the way, with industry-leading interior space for its class, and intuitive placement of dials and controls, I was very pleased with the driving experience!
If you have not seen Honda’s fleet of Hybrid cars, I encourage you to do so! They are worth checking out, as I found much more than I expected in terms of features and comfort. An excellent, environmentally friendly alternative that still lets you enjoy all the features you want in a car.
Would love this car for my family
Something to look into if you’re in the market.
I love this car !!!!
I wash shocked at how quiet it was! Fantastic car!
My son Dakota sells Honda at Crest Honda in Nashville. I never thought I would be able to afford one but he got me an amazing deal I couldn’t turn down and now Honda is the only vehicle I’ll ever buy! I love them.
And I love that they are reliable while being affordable! Can’t beat that!
Hybrids are becoming more and more popular
Honda’s are built like tanks, they take a licking and keep on ticking
ok that is from Timex but it works for Honda as well 🙂
Hi Dave, Sorry for the late reply, but I couldn’t agree more! Very reliable cars!
